How travel rewards helped me afford seeing Taylor Swift in concert this year.

Taylor Swift Now Owns Her Entire Music Catalog — A Full-Circle Victory

After years of fighting for her artistic rights, Taylor Swift has officially reclaimed ownership of her entire music catalog. In a heartfelt letter posted on her website, she shared that "all of the music I’ve ever made… now belongs… to me."

This milestone comes nearly six years after the controversial sale of her master recordings by Big Machine Records, which had originally denied her the opportunity to purchase them.

Now, thanks to her massive success with the Eras Tour, Swift was able to buy back the rights from Shamrock Capital — the private equity firm that previously acquired them.

Importantly, Taylor now owns not only her master recordings but also all associated music videos, concert films, album art, and unreleased songs.

She described the deal as one made with “full autonomy,” with no strings attached, crediting Shamrock for their honesty and fairness in the process.

"To say this is my greatest dream come true is actually being pretty reserved about it,” Swift wrote, expressing deep gratitude to fans: "You helped reunite me with this art that I have dedicated my life to, but have never owned until now."

What’s Next for ‘Taylor’s Version’?

Swift has already re-released Fearless, Red, Speak Now, and 1989 under the Taylor’s Version banner — each including unreleased “From the Vault” tracks. These albums have seen massive chart success, with 1989 (Taylor’s Version) becoming her 13th No. 1 album.

As for what’s still to come, Swift revealed that her re-recording of Reputation isn’t complete yet.

She admitted the album has been emotionally tough to revisit but hinted at the possibility of releasing vault tracks from that era.

Her self-titled debut, however, is fully re-recorded and could be released when the time feels right.

More Than Music — A Movement for Artist Rights

This journey has also sparked a broader industry conversation about artists’ rights. Swift noted that many up-and-coming musicians are now negotiating ownership of their master recordings thanks to the awareness this fight has raised.

“Every time a new artist tells me they negotiated to own their masters because of this, I’m reminded how important this all was,” she wrote.

In closing, Swift thanked her fans for caring, pushing for change, and standing by her through it all:

"Thanks to you and your goodwill, teamwork, and encouragement, the best things that have ever been mine… finally actually are."
